দোয়া হলো একটি আহ্বান, একটি প্রার্থনা এবং একটি আমন্ত্রণ।
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided. (16:125).
প্রজ্ঞা ও উত্তম উপদেশের মাধ্যমে তোমার রবের পথের দিকে আহ্বান করো এবং তাদের সাথে সর্বোত্তম পন্থায় বিতর্ক করো। নিশ্চয়ই তোমার রবই সবচেয়ে ভালো জানেন, কে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়েছে এবং কে সঠিক পথের দিশা পেয়েছে। (১৬:১২৫).

তোমরা তোমাদের রবকে বিনীতভাবে ও একান্তে ডাকো; নিশ্চয়ই তিনি সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদের পছন্দ করেন না। (৭:৫৫).
